Watch: Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane records message to help prevent spread of coronavirus

Patrick Kane made his first public comments Monday since the NHL paused its season March 12 due to coronavirus.

Kane urged people to stay in to help stop the spread of the virus and thanked first responders and health-care workers in a video for the “All In Illinois” campaign.

“Hope everyone is staying safe and staying healthy,” Kane said. “Every game I go all in for my teammates. Now, we’re all teammates so let’s go all in to help our family, friends and our neighbors. Stay in. Stop the spread and keep our community safe.

“I’d like to thank the people on the front lines, the first responders, the health-care workers and everyone else. We truly appreciate all of your sacrifices. Remember, we’re all in for Illinois and hopefully see you at the United Center soon.”

Kane is the third Blackhawks player to make a public statement since the League was suspended, joining rookie Kirby Dach and captain Jonathan Toews.
