SKA St. Petersburg trades Blackhawks goalie prospect Ivan Nalimov to HK Sochi

SKA St. Petersburg traded Blackhawks goaltending prospect Ivan Nalimov to HK Sochi in exchange for the KHL rights to Rangers defenseman prospect Yegor Rykov on Monday.

The 25-year-old Nalimov has not played for SKA St. Petersburg this season since he was acquired from Avangard Omsk in July. The 6-foot-4, 209-pound netminder has played the last five KHL seasons with just as many teams (Admiral Vladivostok, Sibir Novosibirsk, Salavat Yulaev Ufa, Kunlun Red Star and Avangard) while Chicago holds onto his rights.

Nalimov, a sixth-round pick in 2014, recorded a 2.14 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in 18 games last season for Avangard.

Sochi already has one Blackhawks prospect on his team with winger 21-year-old Andrei Altybarmakyan, who has two goals and five points in 13 KHL games this season.
