Chicago Blackhawks prospects T.J. Brennan, Joakim Nordstrom named AHL All-Stars

Chicago Blackhawks prospects T.J. Brennan and Joakim Nordstrom have been selected to play for the Western Conference AHL All-Star Team at the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic, to be held Jan. 25-26 in Utica, N.Y., the AHL announced Tuesday.

Brennan, 25, leads the Rockford IceHogs with 28 points and 21 assists. He is the reigning Eddie Shore Defenseman of the Year and earns his second nod to the All-Star Classic. Last season he went with the Toronto Marlies.

Brennan along with fellow blue liner Ville Pokka and goaltender Anders Nilsson were apart of the Nick Leddy trade to the New York Islanders on Oct. 4. He recorded 25 goals and 47 assists with the Marlies last season.

Nordstrom, 22, is currently with the Blackhawks but has been Rockford’s captain this season. He has registered eight goals and five assists in 17 outings with Rockford.

Nordstrom was originally selected by Chicago 90th overall in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has 51 career points (25G, 19A) in 86 games over his career with Rockford.
