The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned forward Jeremy Morin to Rockford on Tuesday for what the team called a “conditioning assignment,” to bypass waivers and give them time to determine his future, reports Chicago Sun-Times’ Mark Lazerus.
Morin has been a healthy scratch the past eight games, and reports indicated he wants the Blackhawks to either play him or trade him. The 23-year-old has not scored a point in 15 games this season.

Morin would be unlikely to go through waivers unclaimed. The 45th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, has recorded eight goals and eight assists in 54 career games.
Patrick Sharp is expected to return to the lineup, from a lower-body injury he suffered on Nov. 2 against the Montreal Canadiens, in New Jersey on Wednesday night, making Morin’s journey back to the Blackhawks’ lineup all the more changeling.
