The Second City Hockey Team has been discussing posting additional weekly content, here are some ideas:

Former Blackhawk(s) of the Week

Throughout the offseason America’s favorite Dave Melton ran this series focused on former Blackhawks, and we’re looking to it a weekly series all year long. It was heavily based on players from the 1990s and the pre Jonathan Toews/Patrick Kane 2000s eras.

Today in Blackhawks history

In a similar nod to the past, we’d look at some interesting moment in Blackhawks history.

Off day comment thread

Throughout the playoffs, SCH always has a post up for readers to discuss the games. Should we have that during the season as well?

We’re trying to help you win “Beer Money.”

Prospect Stars of the Week

This is a series Brandon has wanted to start that highlights on the top three prospects of the week. Should IceHogs players be included or left out and have the focus be only on NCAA, junior-level and European players?

Chicago-area talent recap

How many times have you heard Pat Foley and Eddie Olczyk on the TV broadcasts gush over a Chicagoland kid doing well on the ice? Probably a lot. Of course the Blackhawks have had a few players from the area (Scott Darling, Ryan Hartman and Vinnie Hinostroza) put on the Indian sweater. But there are several other Chicagoland players in the NHL.

This series wouldn’t only be focused on NHL players, but college (men and women) and CWHL/NWHL as well. Heck, four Chicagoland natives (Kendall Coyne, Hilary Knight, Megan Bozek and Mikaela Gardner) won the Four Nations Cup with Team USA last week. There’s plenty of hockey talent from the area to be highlighted.
