Blackhawks release complete TV schedule for 2016-17 season

The Chicago Blackhawks announced their complete television broadcast schedule for the 2016-17 season on Wednesday. Once again, local channels CSN Chicago and WGN will be handling coverage in addition to national games broadcast on NBC and NBCSN.

The Hawks open their season on Oct. 12 at home against the Blues, then head on the road for the first leg of a home-and-home against the Predators. Before that, the team will play six preseason games, which will all be broadcast live for the second straight year.

Overall, CSN Chicago and WGN will have local broadcasts for 71 games, while NBC and NBCSN will exclusively broadcast 11 games. That means that among the Hawks’ league-leading 21 national TV appearances, 10 of those games will also be covered locally.

As usual, the longtime combo of play-by-play man Pat Foley and color analyst Eddie Olczek will be calling the action on CSN and WGN. Every game will also be broadcast on WGN Radio AM-720 with John Wiededman (play by play) and Troy Murray (color analyst).
