Blackhawks’ David Kampf injures right foot against Oilers

David Kampf will miss at least one game with a right foot injury, Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton said following the team’s 6-2 win over the Oilers on Tuesday at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Kampf blocked one shot, had one hit and won 60 percent of his faceoffs in only 5:30 minutes of ice time across nine shifts in Chicago’s fifth straight win. He did not play after the first period and was the lone forward not to score a point in the game.

The Blackhawks scored five unanswered goals in the third period to extend their winning streak to five games with the victory.

The 24-year-old center will sit out the Blackhawks’ game Thursday against the Canucks at the United Center in Chicago.

Kampf has three goals and 13 assists in 49 games during his second season with Chicago since signing as an undrafted free agent out of the Czech Republic.
