Former Blackhawks in 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round 2 recap

Joakim Nordstrom will meet Teuvo Teravainen in the Eastern Conference Final.

Three former Blackhawks players, two Chicago Steel alums advanced to the Eastern Conference Final. Former Blackhawk Doug Wilson, who is the general manager of the Sharks, also saw his team make the Western Conference Final.

Eastern Conference Round 2 recap

The Bruins defeated the Blue Jackets in six games to advance to the ECF. Nordstrom did not record a point during the series after he tallied two goals and an assist in the first round against Toronto. Moore didn’t play in the series for Boston.

Panarin had three goals and six points against Boston, and 11 points (five goals, six assists) in the playoffs. Ryan Dzingel of Wheaton scored one goal in Game 5 against Boston, while Clendening tallied one assist against Tampa Bay in the first round.

Teravainen scored three goals and an assist in the second-round series sweep of the Islanders. He has nine points (six goals, three assists) in 11 playoff games.

Van Riemsdyk suffered a left shoulder injury in Game 2 against the Islanders that required surgery, which will cause him to miss four to six months.

Slavin had two assists against the Islanders to bring his assist total to 11 in as many playoff outings.

Western Conference Round 2 recap

J.T. Compher of Northbrook stepped up with two goals and an assist in Game 6 for the Avalanche against the Sharks to force a Game 7, which San Jose won to return to the conference final for the second time in three years. Compher had four goals and six points in 12 playoff games.

Stars defenseman and Steel alum Jamie Oleksiak didn’t play against the Blues in the second round due to a lower-body injury. He skated in four games against Nashville in the first round.
