The Blackhawks roll into to Big D trying to start up another long win streak after beating the Blue Jackets on Thursday night. The first meeting against the Stars saw the Hawks erase a 2-0 deficit by scoring three power play goals including Marian Hossa's OT winning goal. Corey Crawford, who had a nice bounce back game in Columbus, will get the start in net tonight. Crow is 4-4-0 with a 2.67 GAA and a less than stellar .894 save % in nine career games against Dallas. Chris Kuc Tweeted this morning that it looks like Daniel Carcillo, Jamal Mayers and Sheldon Brookbank will most likely be healthy scratches tonight. This should not surprise anyone as Gorilla Salad has been bad, Brookbank had a horrible night in Columbus and I'm not sure if Mayers is even alive anymore. Despite the best start in NHL history the Hawks can not pull away from the pesky Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference standings. The Ducks, who are just four points behind the Hawks, will face off against the Blues in St. Louis tonight.
The Stars are part of the muck that is the bottom six teams of the Western Conference. They are currently in 11th place just three points out of 8th but also just three points out of dead last. Dallas has lost three straight games and have only scored twice during the losing streak. Jamie Benn has missed the last two games with a wrist injury. He skated in morning practice today but is still considered a game time decision. Kari Lehtonen will get the start in net for the Stars tonight. Lehtonen is 4-2-1 with a 2.12 GAA and a .933 save % including January's OT loss versus the Blackhawks. Loui Eriksson, one of the league's most underrated players, has 4 points in his last 5 games and has 22 points (12 G, 10 A) in 25 career games versus Chicago.
