Blackhawks’ Henri Jokiharju out with illness vs. Jets

Rookie defenseman Henri Jokiharju will miss his second consecutive game with an illness Thursday when the Blackhawks visit the Jets in Winnipeg.

Jokiharju did skate during Thursday’s morning practice after missing Tuesday’s nights 8-3 loss to the Golden Knights in Chicago.

The Finnish blue liner has no goals and 10 assists in 23 games this season. He skated 15:01 minutes of ice time in Chicago’s 5-4 overtime win against the Panthers on Saturday. It was his first game back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the previous night in the Blackhawks’ 4-2 loss to the Lightning in Tampa.

The Blackhawks’ defensive pairings remain the same as Tuesday night, with Duncan Keith and Gustav Forsling paired on the top line and Brandon Manning and Brent Seabrook as the second pair. Erik Gustafsson and Jan Rutta round out the defensive unit.
