You can watch Blackhawks introduce new head coach Jeremy Colliton

The Blackhawks will usher in a new era Tuesday when they introduce Jeremy Colliton as their head coach after firing Joel Quenneville earlier in the day.

Chicago also parted ways with assistant coaches Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson, and brought in Barry Smith from the front office to serve as an assistant under Colliton. Assistant coach Don Granto will remain on staff.

The Blackhawks promoted Rockford assistant coach Derek King to interim head coach for the IceHogs.

NBC Sports Chicago will carry a live stream for Colliton’s introductory press conference at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Colliton will be joined by Blackhawks President and CEO John McDonough and Senior Vice President/General Manager Stan Bowman.

Quenneville departs as the second-winningest coach in Blackhawks history with 452 victories in 797 games. He’s also ranked the second-winningest coach in NHL history with 890 wins.

Colliton now becomes the youngest active NHL head coach at age 33. He joined the Blackhawks organization last season as the head coach of their AHL affiliate in Rockford. The IceHogs went 40-28-4 and a berth in the Western Conference Final for the first time in franchise history.
