Now, this is a story all about how Duncan Keith’s life got flipped upside down. We’d like to take a minute, and just sit right there we’ll tell you how Keith became the prince of a town called Belair. In Western Canada, born and raised, on the rink is where he spent most of his days chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool, shooting some pucks outside of the school. When a couple of guys, who were up to no good started making trouble in his neighborhood. He got in one little fight, and his Mom got scared. She said, “you’re moving with your Auntie and Uncle in Belair.”
He begged and pleaded with her, day after day, but she packed his suitcase and sent him on his way. She gave him a kiss and his ticket. He put his Walkman on, and he said, “I might as well kick it.” First-class, yo this is bad. Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass. Is this what the people of Belair living like? Hmmm this might be alright.
But wait he hears they’re prissy, bourgeois, all that. Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat? He doesn’t think so. He’ll see when he gets there. He hopes they’re prepared for the prince of Belair.
Well, the plane landed and when he came out there was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with his name out. He isn’t trying to go into the penalty box yet. He just got there. He sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared.
He whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and it had ice on the mirror. If anything he could say that this cab was rare, but he thought, ‘nah, forget it’ – ‘Yo, home to Belair.”
He pulled up to the house about 7 or 8, and he yelled to the cabbie, ‘yo home, smell ya later.’ He looked at his kingdom and he was finally there to sit on his throne as the Prince of Belair.

So yeah, the 2015 Conn Smythe trophy winner Duncan Keith took the Stanley Cup to Belair, Manitoba and rode around in a Chevrolet Corvette before helping his son, Colton, hoist it. It’s August, so I decided to have some fun with the MBS lede. Hope you all enjoyed it.
