Morning Bag Skate: Blackhawks to host Senators

The Chicago Blackhawks look to bounce back from Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Kings when they host the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday at United Center.

The United States and Canada will play for Olympic gold in the women’s tournament. The Americans have three players with Illinois ties in Kendall Coyne, a Palos Heights native and Blackhawks ambassador, Hilary Knight, who grew up in Lake Forest, and Alex Rigsby, who lived in Wisconsin but played youth hockey in the Chicago area. Early Wednesday, Finland held off the Olympic Athletes from Russia to capture its  third bronze medal in women’s hockey.

The semifinal field is set in the men’s tournament. The Czech Republic, who ousted the U.S., will play OAR, while Canada will face Germany in the other semifinal. Both games will be Friday.
