The Blackhawks fell 4-3 in overtime in their preseason opener to the Capitals on Monday. Chicago heads to Detroit to face the Red Wings on Tuesday.
Max Shalunov (CKSA) and Artur Kayumov (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl) were both held off the scoresheet in CSKA’s 5-2 win.
Andrei Altybarmakyan (Sochi) faces off against SKA St. Petersburg at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Victor Ejdsell (Farjestad BK) plays Skelleftea at noon.
Elsewhere in Chicago sports, the Cubs beat the Reds 8-2. The White Sox lost 5-3 to the Twins.
On Tuesday, the Cubs and White Sox both play again.
