Morning Bag Skate: Blackhawks squander momentum in another close loss

Sigh.

As our own Dave Melton wrote in his recap of last night’s game, “It’s a story that’s been told so many times it’s nauseating.”

I write this article once a week, and I don’t know long I can take it myself.

As you probably know already, the Blackhawks lost another game last night, in typical Hawks fashion as of late. Chicago fell 3-2 at the hands of Artemi Panarin and the Blue Jackets and were held scoreless in the third period. The team also failed to register any production on their three power play power play opportunities.

Coach Quenneville’s squad remains in the cellar of an admittedly tough Central Division and are just playing for pride at this point. They won’t play again in the month of February, in which they compiled a paltry record of 3-10. They’ll face the Sharks again on March 1 in San Jose at 9:30 p.m. CT on WGN.
