Morning Bag Skate: Crawford named Game 1 starter, waiting on second-round schedule

Corey Crawford will be the Chicago Blackhawks starter when they host the Minnesota Wild in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The schedule has yet to be announced for the series in because the United Center co-tennant Chicago Bulls are failing to close out their first-round series. The Hawks have home-ice advantage, so the first two games will be held at the UC.

Elsewhere in the playoffs, the Washington Capitals eliminated the New York Islanders in a thrilling Game 7. It’s nice knowing the last game played at Nassau Coliseum was an Islander win. The Tampa Bay Lightning also forced a Game 7 with the Detroit Red Wings for Wednesday.

Four down, 12 to go for the Hawks.
