Morning Bag Skate: Hawks get throttled; ESPN gets World Cup of Hockey

Maybe don’t make a trip to Las Vegas next year, Blackhawks? Jeez.

Last night’s debacle in Minnesota was the Hawks’ worst game of the year, and probably the worst they’ve looked since that nine-game losing streak in 2012. It’d be great if we can all look back in June and laugh at a lot of the things we angrily yelled at our TVs last night, but Stan Bowman is going to have to reconsider his thoughts on the team’s blue line for that to happen.

But let’s get to the news, before Michal Rozsival commits another d-zone turnover or Andrew Shaw does something else that’s pointless:

**Less-than-ideal hockey things happened up north last night. No need to panic — it’s February. But changes are necessary. (SCH)

**ESPN has reportedly won U.S. broadcast rights to the World Cup of Hockey. (SBN)

**Daniel Carcillo vows to not change his style. I vow not to change my desires to have him blasted to Jupiter. (Tribune)

**Good hockey news for Chicago: Kris Versteeg is expected back early in the upcoming homestand, and Trevor van Riemsdyk started skating again. (CSN Chicago)

**NHL.com will introduce 35 advanced stats on Feb. 20. (Sporting News)

**The Fisherman jersey returned during warmups on Tuesday night. (Puck Daddy)

**Kyle Okposo will miss six to eight weeks with quite the horrific upper-body injury. (Puck Daddy)

**Matt Cooke could be out for the remainder of the regular season, so he likely won’t be on the ice when the Wild eliminate the Predators in round one. (Star Tribune)

**Las Vegas ownership group unveiled season ticket drive details on Tuesday. (SBN)

**Keeping with the Vegas theme, the Hawks and Ducks are co-favorites to win the Cup. (CBS Sports)
