Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane is No. 8 overall rated player in ‘NHL 19’

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane is the No. 8 overall rated player in the “NHL 19” video game, EA Sports announced Monday.

Kane, who is rated 91 overall for the second straight year, is Chicago’s top rated player. The 29-year-old’s top three skill ratings fall under the puck skills section with deking, hand-eye and puck control at 97. His lowest rated skills are aggressiveness, body checking and shot blocking at 75.

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is the only other Chicago player in the top 50 overall players at the No. 50 spot with an 87 overall rating. Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford and defenseman Duncan Keith were in the top 50 in “NHL 18” but have fallen outside the group this year.

Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman and winger Nikita Kucherov also earned a 91 rating.

Edmonton’s Connor McDavid took the top spot with a 94 rating, while Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby was second at 93. Both players had a 93 rating in last year’s game. Montreal goaltender Carey Price, Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty and Washington winger Alex Ovechkin rounded out the top five players with 92 ratings.

“NHL 19” is scheduled to be fully released Sept. 14.
