NHL All-Star Skills Competition 2016: Patrick Kane to participate in 3 events

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The NHL released the full lists of participants for the All-Star Skills Competition on Friday, with Blackhawks winger and Central Division captain Patrick Kane participating in three of the events. Kane and Pacific Division captain John Scott worked together to set the Skills Competition lineups for the Western Conference.

Kane will be participating in the DraftKings NHL Shooting Accuracy challenge, the Gatorade NHL Skills Challenge Relay stick handling and the Discover NHL Shootout. Kane won the Shooting Accuracy contest last year after hitting all four targets on six shots in 13.52 seconds. He defeated Jonathan Toews in the competition’s final round.

Joining Kane in the accuracy shooting contest are Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks and Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks. Drew Doughty and Vladimir Tarasenko will be the passers.

Scott’s participation in the weekend’s festivities has created quite a stir around the league of late, but he said he is excited to be here. He told the media on Friday that he wanted to participate in all the Skills Competition challenges, but settled for the Shootout Competition and the Amp Energy NHL Hardest Shot.

You can see the full Skills Competition lineups for the Western Conference here and Eastern Conference here. The Skills Competition will take place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Saturday night at 7 p.m. CT.
