Patrick Kane has met with investigators as part of their investigation into a rape accusation made against the Chicago Blackhawks star forward, according to Tim Graham and Lou Michel of The Buffalo News. The two reporters have been covering the case since the beginning as the Hamburg Police Department and Erie County District Attorney’s office have investigated allegations that Kane raped a woman at his offseason home in Hamburg, N.Y., on Aug. 2.
Detectives from both the Hamburg police and the DA’s office reportedly met with Kane at the office of his attorney, Paul Cambria. The police asked the DA’s office to help with the investigation “because of the high-profile nature of the case and the sensitivity of the allegations.”
The DA’s office reportedly employs 16 investigators, while the Hamburg police’s website lists seven detectives and one sergeant detective.
The woman has accused Kane of raping her at his home after meeting earlier in the night at SkyBar in Buffalo. She alleges that Kane “overpowered her in his house, raped her and left her with a scratched leg and bite marks on her shoulders.” The report also says the woman went to the hospital and underwent tests from a rape examination kit.
Cambria declined to comment for the report.
