Watch: Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane score in shootout for Blackhawks

Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane both scored in the Blackhawks’ 3-2 shootout victory over the Islanders on Tuesday night at the United Center in Chicago.

Toews opened the shootout with his second tally of the game. He also scored in the second period to send the game to overtime.

Kane stick-handled his way to the net before flipping the puck past Islanders goaltender Robin Lehner and into the net to give Chicago back-to-back victories.

Chicago goaltender Cam Ward stopped both shot attempts by Josh Bailey and Mathew Barzal. Ward received the game’s No. 1 star after his 34-save performance.

Toews is 47.3 percent in his NHL career on shootout attempts, while Kane is 40 percent.

The Blackhawks will have a nine-day break as the NHL All-Star break begins Thursday and the team rolls right into their bye week after it. Kane will be the Blackhawks lone representative at the All-Star weekend at SAP Center in San Jose, California.
