Lucas Carlsson, Dylan Sikura extend point streaks in Rockford IceHogs’ 2-1 loss to Grand Rapids Griffins

Lucas Carlsson and Dylan Sikura extended their respective point streaks in the Rockford IceHogs’ (Blackhawks) 2-1 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins (Red Wings) on Tuesday at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford.

Sikura sent a pass from the point to Carlsson, who snapped a wrist shot from the left circle for his first goal in 17 games to tie it 1-1 at 13:44.

Sikura has 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) during his career-long 11-game point streak, while Carlsson has nine points (one goal, eight assists) during a seven-game point streak.

Tyler Spezia scored the game-winning goal at 8:44 of the third with a backhand shot into the right corner of the net for Grand Rapids (25-22-3-4), which has won three straight and moved into sole possession of third place in the Central Division.

Dennis Cholowski scored with a wrist shot from the top of the left face-off circle at 5:15 of the second period. Pat Nagle made 27 saves for his third straight win and fourth in his past five games.

Collin Delia made 38 saves in his first loss in three starts for the IceHogs (25-26-1-2), who had won three straight and are fifth in the Central.

Grand Rapids had a goal disallowed at 12:05 of the first due to goaltender interference by Michael Rasmussen. Joe Hicketts’ power-play goal on a rebound at 3:27 of the third was disallowed then a review on Grand Rapids coach Ben Simon’s challenge didn’t show definitive evidence the puck crossed the goal line.
