Scott Darling is trolling St. Louis with a Cubs-themed goalie mask for the Winter Classic

The Chicago Blackhawks are heading to St. Louis to take on the Blues in the upcoming Winter Classic, and goaltender Scott Darling isn’t missing the chance to throw some shade in the process. Darling is a Cubs fan, and his mask for the big game at Busch Stadium — home of the rival Cardinals — is adorned with images honoring the North Siders.

The mask, which got revealed by Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take on Friday, features images of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, legendary broadcaster Harry Caray, and Wrigley Field’s famous marquee. Presumably there are other Cubs-related items spreading across the rest of the helmet.

This is a pretty incredible mask for a few reasons.

  1. I’m a Cubs fan, the Cubs just won the World Series, and we need to make sure to remind everyone of this as much as possible, just like how the world loved to remind us that our team sucked for 108 years.
  2. Any chance you can get to troll The Best Fans In Baseball, you do it.
  3. It’s just visually awesome-looking, even once you get past the delightful winking nod to making Cardinals fans get angsty.

Scott Darling, you are the man. This mask is just the latest reason I think that.
