According to ESPN – Versteeg’s agent says they are still working with the Blackhawks to get a new contract done, possibly before a ruling on the grievance filed on his behalf from the NHLPA. However, with the cap room the Hawks have there will need to be some big moves made before the Hawks can think about signing him. As much as he wants to stay here and as much as we all would want him on this team – the numbers just don’t add up.
