Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville doesn’t like the NHL’s video review process.
For the second time in the past three games, the Hawks had a goal disallowed. After earning a penalty for screaming in an official’s face over a disallowed goal call in Arizona, Quenneville was on the wrong end of another disallowed goal Tuesday in a 2-0 home loss against the San Jose Sharks.
In the first period, Brandon Mashinter appeared to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. The Sharks, however, challenged the goal because they believed Dennis Rasmussen interfered with goaltender Martin Jones. The officials agreed and wiped off the goal.
Quenneville wasn’t too happy in his postgame press conference.
“It’s gotten to a different level,” Quenneville said. “I don’t know the rules anymore, or something’s changed, because my understanding, played a lot of hockey, I don’t know, think everybody has an interpretation of what’s a good goal and what’s a bad goal, but I can’t believe it.”
Quenneville then threw his hands in the air and walked out of the room.
