Since there’s absolutely no reason to discuss anything from Monday’s debacle and the Blackhawks are off until Saturday, it’s a good time to look at some numbers beyond the ones on the scoreboard and explore one early development from the season.
Even after surrendering a goal against the Coyotes, the Blackhawks’ penalty kill remains seventh in the league at 86.7 percent, well ahead of the 76.2 percent conversion rate that was 22nd in the league last season.
