World Cup of Hockey game thread, schedule for Wednesday

Corey Crawford will start in net for Canada against Team Europe in the night game Wednesday.

The Chicago Blackhawks goaltender has never played in a major international tournament for Canada in his career. The 31-year-old is rising star among the elite goaltenders in the NHL, and is finally getting a chance to represent his country. Canada will play Team Europe for a chance at the No. 1 seed in Group A.

In the day game, Sweden faces off against North America. The Swedes have already clinched a spot in the the semifinals alongside Canada and Team Europe.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be represented on three of the four teams in action: Niklas Hjalmarsson and Marcus Kruger (Sweden) face Team North America, while Marian Hossa (Europe) plays against Crawford and Jonathan Toews (Canada).
