World Juniors 2019: Dec. 27 schedule, TV, game thread

Five Blackhawks prospects will be in action on Day 2 of the World Junior Championship in British Columbia.

The day’s opening game between Denmark and Russia does not feature any Chicago prospects.

Swedish defenseman Adam Boqvist takes on Slovakia in the second game of the day. Boqvist had two secondary assists in Sweden’s 2-1 win over Finland on Day 1. Slovakia fell 2-1 to the United States earlier that day.

The third game of the day features three Chicago prospects. Swiss center Phillip Kurashev faces off against Canadian winger MacKenzie Entwistle and defenseman Ian Mitchell. Entwistle scored the final goal in Canada’s 14-0 win over Denmark, while Mitchell had two secondary assists.

Finnish defenseman Henri Jokiharju closes out the day against Kazakhstan. Jokiharju was the lone Blackhawks player that did not record a point on Day 1. He had three shots and a team-high 25:06 of ice time against Sweden.

Games will air on NHL Network in the United States and TSN in Canada.
