World Juniors 2019: Dec. 31 schedule, TV, game thread

The Blackhawks will have six prospects set to play Monday at the World Junior Championship in British Columbia.

Czech defenseman Jakub Galvas (2017 fifth-rounder) starts the day against winless Denmark, who has been outscored 22-0 in three games. The winner of the game will advance to the quarterfinals to play the top seed from Group B. Galvas has one assist in three games.

Swedish defenseman Adam Boqvist (2018 first-rounder) meets winless Kazkhstan. A regulation win by Sweden clinches the top spot in Group B. Boqvist has a goal and three assists in the tournament.

Canadian forward MacKenzie Entwistle (2017 third-rounder via Arizona trade) and defenseman Ian Mitchell (2017 second-rounder) play Russia for the top spot in Group A. Entwistle has scored a goal in all three games while Mitchell has two assists.

American center Evan Barratt (2017 third-rounder) faces off against Finnish defenseman Henri Jokiharju (2017 first-rounder) in Group B play. A win by Finland would have them leap the U.S. in the standings into second place behind Sweden. Barratt only has one goal, while Jokiharju has a goal and two assists.

All the games will air on NHL Network except for Sweden vs. Kazakhstan.
