2019 Stanley Cup playoffs: Eastern Conference Final Game 3 open thread

Here we go again.

The Hurricanes return home to PNC Arena in a 2-0 series deficit for the second time in this year’s playoffs when they host the Bruins in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday.

Carolina dug itself out of the first 2-0 hole by winning four straight against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Capitals in the first round then four more to sweep the Islanders to make the conference final. The Hurricanes are 5-0 this postseason at PNC Arena.

The Bruins, meanwhile, have found plenty of success on the road, including avoiding elimination against the Maple Leafs in Game 6 of the first round then finishing the Blue Jackets in Game 6 of the second round.

In the first two games of the series, the Bruins have outscored the Hurricanes 11-4. Four of those Boston goals have come on the power play, which leads the NHL in the playoffs at 33.3 percent.

Tuesday’s schedule

Game 3: Bruins at Hurricanes, 7 p.m. (NBCSN), BOS 2-0
