The Blackhawks will have three prospects playing in the semifinals of the World Junior Championships in British Columbia.
Switzerland 2, Sweden 0
Swiss center Philipp Kurashev (2018 fourth) had four shots on net in 19:15 of ice time in the upset win. Kurashev leads all Chicago players with five goals and six points in the tournament.
Swedish defenseman Adam Boqvist (’18 first) had three shots in 22:28. Boqvist had three assists and the game-winning overtime goal against the United States in the preliminary round. He’ll report back to the London Knights in the OHL.
Switzerland will face Finland in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday.
Finland 2, Canada 1 (OT)
Finnish defenseman Henri Jokiharju (’17 first) had a game-high eight shots on goal as his team knocked off the reigning tournament champions.
Canadian defenseman Ian Mitchell (’17 second) scored the opening goal for Canada in the second period. He had a team-high six shots on goal, and finished the tournament with a goal and two assists.

Canadian winger MacKenzie Entwistle (’17 third via trade) had three goals in each of his first three games but was held off the scoresheet in his last two outings.
Entwistle and Mitchell will report back to the Hamilton Bulldogs in the OHL and the University of Denver, respectively.
United States 3, Czech Republic 1
American center Evan Barratt (’17 third) also had three shots on goal. He has one goal in five tournament games.
Czech defenseman Jakub Galvas (’17 fifth) was a minus-1 with one shot on goal. He had a secondary assist in the Czech’s first preliminary game. He will report back to HC Olomouc in Czech Extraliga.
The U.S. will face Russia in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Friday.
