2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs: August 20 schedule, how to watch on TV

With three more series ending Wednesday, the first round of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs is winding down, leaving only two games on the schedule for Thursday.

The first game is in the Eastern Conference, where the Islanders own a 3-1 series lead over the Capitals. New York won the first three games of the series and took a 2-0 lead in Game 4 on Tuesday, but Washington rallied with three goals — including two from Alex Ovechkin — to stay alive and force Game 5.

Although there are no games during the day, hockey’s night owls will still have options available Thursday when the Stars and Flames meet for Game 6 in Edmonton. Dallas owns a 3-2 series lead after breaking the deadlock in Game 5 with a 2-1 victory. John Klingberg’s goal early in the third period was the winning tally as Anton Khudobin made 28 saves to push the Flames to the brink of elimination.
