Blackhawks activate Marcus Kruger from injured reserve

The Blackhawks activated forward Marcus Kruger (left leg) from injured reserve and placed defenseman Brandon Davidson (right leg) on IR retroactively to Nov. 13 on Friday morning.

Kruger will draw back into the lineup for rookie center Luke Johnson on the fourth line Friday night against the Kings.

Kruger missed three games after he was tripped by Carolina’s Clark Bishop late in the second period of the Blackhawks’ 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Nov. 8 at the United Center. Kruger skated off under his own power, but did not return. He has two goals in 16 games this season.

Davidson did not play in Chicago’s 1-0 win over the Blues on Wednesday after injuring his right leg during Monday’s game in Carolina. He logged 12:23 minutes of ice, and hardly played in the third period. He has one assist in seven games while rotating in on the third defensive pairing with Brandon Manning.
