Blackhawks’ Alex DeBrincat was the cutest Scrappy-Doo for Halloween

Alex DeBrincat is known for his goal scoring prowess on the ice. The Blackhawks winger led the team in goals last season with 28, but Tuesday night he showed he can be a bit feisty.

DeBrincat — all 5-foot-7 and 165 pounds of him — took on Ducks defenseman Josh Manson — son of former Blackhawks brawler Dave Manson. The younger Manson ran DeBrincat into the boards and he took exception to it. The 20-year-old DeBrincat took a few wild swings at Manson, who is 8 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier than DeBrincat.

Blackhawks teammates joked around about DeBrincat’s scrap with Manson, including defenseman Erik Gustafsson saying, “I’ve never seen him like that. Now, I’m pretty scared of him.”

On Thursday prior to the Blackhawks game against the Rangers, the team released a photo of DeBrincat from his youth in a Scrappy Doo costume for Halloween.

It’s so fitting and timely.

DeBrindog is a reference to DeBrincat’s dog, Ralph, which has its own Instagram account (@ralph_debrindog) filled with adorable photos of the Shiba Inu.
