Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville earned his 800th NHL career coaching victory with a 6-4 win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday at the United Center.

Quenneville, 57, became the second all-time winningest coach in January passing the late Al Arbour. Just days prior, Quenneville signed a three-year contract extension worth a reported $18 million. The deal is a raise from his previous contract.
Quenneville has won half of the franchise’s championships with Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Since taking over as the Hawks coach four games into the 2008-09 season, Quenneville is 362-181-72 in 615 games during eight seasons. He’s 73-44 in 117 playoff games with the Hawks, good for a .624 winning percentage that is the highest for a Hawks coach since 1940.
The only coach with more regular-season wins is Scotty Bowman (1,244), who is the Hawks’ senior adviser and father to general manager Stan Bowman. Quenneville has a 800-464-77-113 record in his 19 seasons, which also include stints with the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche.
