Blackhawks, Hurricanes discussed Scott Darling, Justin Faulk trade, per report

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Carolina Hurricanes could link up for a trade soon. The two sides have discussed about Carolina defenseman Justin Faulk and goaltender Scott Darling, reports Scott Powers of The Athletic.

Faulk, 26, has two years left on his contract. The right-handed shot defenseman carries a $4.833 million. He has scored 30-plus points a season since the 2013-14 campaign. He scored 31 points (eight goals, 23 assists) in 76 games last season. Prior to the 2017-18 campaign, he had scored at least 15 goals in each of the last three seasons.

Darling became a free agent last offseason before the Blackhawks traded him to the Hurricanes for a third-round pick. Carolina then signed him to a four-year, $16.6 million extension. He had 13 wins with a 3.18 goals-against average and .888 save percentage during his first season in Carolina.

The Hawks and ‘Canes have recently exchanged Darling and forwards Teuvo Teravainen, Bryan Bickell and Kris Versteeg.
