2019 NHL All-Star Game: Blackhawks’ Jonathan Toews not voted in

Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews won’t play in the 2019 NHL All-Star Game after Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog won the “Last Men In” fan vote, the league announced Friday.

Landeskog was voted as the Central Division’s final player and will join teammates Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen for the all-star weekend at SAP Center in San Jose, California. The skills competition will be at 8 p.m. Central time Jan. 25 on NBC Sports Network, followed by the All-Star Game at 7 p.m. the next day on NBC.

In addition to Toews, Landeskog beat out Filip Forsberg (Predators), Patrik Laine (Jets), Zach Parise (Wild), Tyler Seguin (Stars) and Vladimir Tarasenko (Blues).

The other three players voted in were forwards Leon Draisaitl (Oilers/Pacific), Jeff Skinner (Buffalo/Atlantic) and defenseman Kris Letang (Penguins/Metropolitan).

Patrick Kane will be the lone Blackhawks representative for the all-star weekend as he makes his eighth All-Star appearance. Kane leads the team with 58 points, 24 goals and 34 assists in 45 games this season. Alex DeBrincat, who has 36 points (21 goals, 15 assists) is listed as an injury replacement.
