Well, that was pretty much the worst weekend possible for the Chicago Blackhawks. Lopsided losses to the Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins have put some pressure on the team to get back on track, and hopefully we see that this week before things get any more dire. Here’s the news:
**The ‘Hawks made an intriguing move Sunday night by signing backup goaltender Scott Darling to a two-year contract extension. (SCH)
**That deal came after the team promoted Darling and Joakim Nordstrom from Rockford. Antti Raanta and Ryan Hartman were reassigned to make room. (SCH)

**Steve Montador was planning to sue the NHL over his repeated head injuries before being found dead earlier this month at the age of 35. According to the lawyer Montador had retained, a lawsuit is still expected to be filed on behalf of the family, though he needs to talk to them first.
