Blackhawks lose 1st game in Jeremy Colliton Era

The Blackhawks are starting the Jeremy Colliton Era like they did under Joel Quenneville — with a 4-3 loss.

The Blackhawks allowed four unanswered goals before scoring three of their own in a 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Thursday at the United Center. It’s the sixth straight loss for Chicago.

Patrick Kane tallied the first goal for Chicago in the second period before David Kampf made it a 4-2 game. Nick Schmaltz sniped another goal in the third period.

Chicago also fell 4-3 to the Blues in a shootout in Quenneville’s debut in 2008, with Kane also scoring the first goal for Chicago.

Quenneville recorded his first win for the Blackhawks in the next game with a 4-2 home victory over the Canucks.

Colliton will look to pick up his first win when the Blackhawks visit the Flyers for a Saturday matinee.
