The Blackhawks have 10 regular-season games remaining and are trying to return to the Stanley Cup playoffs after a one-year absence. Each day until the end of the regular-season, Second City Hockey will breakdown their chances at a spot in the playoffs.
Tuesday’s results
The Blackhawks and Coyotes were idle.
The Avalanche beat the Wild, 3-1, to pull within two points of the Coyotes for the second wild card in the West. The loss by the Wild helped the Sharks clinch a playoff berth.
The Stars increased their lead to four points over the Coyotes for the first wild card in the West with a 4-2 win over the Panthers. Dallas is two points back of the Blues for third in the Central after St. Louis cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Oilers.
