Blackhawks place Jeremy Morin, Corey Tropp on waivers, per report

The Chicago Blackhawks have placed forwards Jeremy Morin and Corey Tropp on waivers Friday, reports TVA Sports’ Renaud Lavoie.

Both forwards were acquired in the Brandon Saad trade with Columbus in June.

Morin, 24, collected six points (two goals, four assists) in 43 games between Columbus and Chicago last season. The Auburn, N.Y., native was traded to the Blue Jackets in December 2014 in exchange for defenseman Tim Erixon. Morin has 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 82 career NHL games and 158 points (81 goals, 77 assists) in 208 AHL games, all with the Rockford IceHogs.

Tropp, 26, notched eight points (a goal, seven assists) in 61 games for the Blue Jackets last season. The Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., native has amassed 27 points (six goals, 21 assists) in 148 career NHL games with Columbus (2013-15) and the Buffalo Sabres (2011-14). He was selected in the third round (89th overall) by Buffalo in the 2007 NHL Draft.

Chicago’s camp roster is now at 56 players with 30 forwards, 21 defensemen and five goaltenders.
