Blackhawks re-assign Dylan Sikura to AHL

The Blackhawks re-assigned winger Dylan Sikura to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL on Tuesday.

Sikura was held without a point in five games prior to be sent down to the AHL. During his two call ups to the NHL this season, he recorded no goals and eight assists in 33 games.

With the Blackhawks’ playoff hopes on life support, Chicago is hoping Sikura can help push the IceHogs into the Calder Cup playoffs. Despite only playing in 40 AHL games, he’s fourth on the IceHogs in goals (13) and seventh in points (30) this season.

With six games remaining in the regular season, the IceHogs have 74 points and are three points back of Milwaukee for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division. Rockford faces Texas and Milwaukee twice more this season.

The IceHogs host San Antonio, who is the third-worst team in the AHL, on Tuesday night at BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford.
