Dylan Sikura sets new career-high point streak in Rockford IceHogs’ 3-2 loss to San Antonio Rampage

Dylan Sikura had an assist to set a new career-high point streak at seven games in the Rockford IceHogs’ 3-2 loss to the San Antonio Rampage (Blues) on Saturday at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Sikura sent the puck to the point for Lucas Carlsson, who fired the puck off Ville Husso’s left pad that Gabriel Gagne knocked in for a power-play goal to tie it 2-2 at 16:21 of the second period. Sikura has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) during his current point streak.

Mitch Reinke’s wrist shot from the right hashmarks of the right face-off circle soared past Collin Delia’s left shoulder at 6:58 of the third for San Antonio’s first win in Rockford since Nov. 10, 2017.

Nathan Walker and Mike Vecchione each had a goal and an assist for the Rampage (17-19-7-5), who split the weekend after falling 3-2 in overtime Friday. Husso made 19 saves for his third win in his past four starts.

Carlsson had two assists for a second straight game, and John Quenneville scored a power-play goal for Rockford (22-25-1-2), which had won two straight. Delia made 23 saves in his third straight start.

Quenneville fired a wrist shot from the right circle into the top right corner of the net past Husso’s glove for a 1-0 Rockford lead at 13:28. Quenneville has goals in three straight games and four in his past five.

Walker tied it 1-1 at 18:22 when he took a centering pass from Vecchione and tapped it between Delia’s five-hole.

Vecchoine’s backhand shot below the right circle bounced on top of Delia’s right pad then behind him and trickled past the goal line as he tried to find it for San Antonio to take a 2-1 lead 46 seconds into the second.
