After about 18 minutes of all-Bruins hockey, the Blackhawks finally found a bit of luck at the end of the period, notching a power play goal with just 1.4 seconds remaining in the period. Patrick Kane took a shot from the left dot, which was re-directed by Jonathan Toews for the score. It just cut the lead in half, as they still trail 2-1, but they will also start the 2nd period with 1:59 of power play time as well, after Tuukka Rask inadvertently slashed Kris Versteeg following the ‘Hawks goal.
