In the premier episode of the Blackhawks’ 2019 NHL draft On the Clock series, general manager Stan Bowman reacts to the team moving up nine spots in the NHL Draft lottery to the No. 3 overall pick and has a phone call with vice president of amateur scouting Mark Kelley. Jonathan Toews also reflects on being the No. 3 pick in 2006.
At the end of the episode a meeting with the team’s scouting staff is teased with Kelley calling out the names of five potential prospects: defenseman Bowen Byram, and centers Kirby Dach, Alex Turcotte, Trevor Zegras and Dylan Cozens.
