While attempting to enter the zone with possession during the first period of Friday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils, Connor Bedard was injured on a hit delivered by NJ defenseman Brendan Smith.
Bedard immediately skated to the bench after the hit and then went down the tunnel into the locker room. remaining there for the rest of the first period. Just as the second period started, the Blackhawks announced on Twitter that he would not return to the game.
