Look: Blackhawks’ Anton Forsberg pays tribute to Avicii with goalie mask

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Anton Forsberg will have a new mask for the 2018-19 season, and with it comes a tribute to the late Swedish artist, DJ and producer Avicii.

Forsberg’s mask features a portrait of Avicii, whose given name was Tim Bergling, on the left side. Bergling died at age 28 on April 20 in Muscat, Oman. No official cause of death has been released.

Today we have the honor to present Anton Forsberg´s new Blackhawks mask for the coming season😊🥅. Anton knew what he wanted on his new mask, he wanted to pay tribute to the Swedish DJ legend Tim Bergling❤️, a.k.a Avicii, who recently passed away. Just as Anton I am also a big admirer of his music and person and family🙏🏻❤️. It was a huge honor for me to paint and create this painting together with Anton in honor to Avicii´s family, they were also the first to see this painting❤️. The rest of the mask is painted in an old school and clean style, and on the other side of the mask Anton`s best friend pop up and makes him company in the net. @antonforsbeerg @nhlblackhawks @nhl @daveart

Bergling worn a Blackhawks hat in a August 2013 video titled “Becoming: Avicii” on his official YouTube page. The same hat can be seen on his profile page on Wikipedia.

Bergling played the team’s official goal song, “Chelsea Dagger” by The Fratellis, in May 2013 at Electric Daisy Carnival at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet and the following May during his True Tour at Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

Forsberg, who is also from Sweden, turns 26 in November. He was 10-16-4 in 35 games for Chicago last season.
