Fans permitted inside United Center at 25 percent capacity staring May 7

A joint statement from the Blackhawks and Bulls on Thursday afternoon announced that fans will be permitted into the United Center at 25 percent capacity beginning on Friday, May 7. The announcement comes after the arena was given permission from city and state government officials to welcome fans back into the building.

Starting this weekend there will be guests inside the stadium, although they will not be members of the general just yet, according to the teams’ statement:

The Blackhawks and Bulls will take a phased-in approach to hosting fans. Beginning May 1, the teams will host a few hundred player family members and team-invited guests only until welcoming the general public back to the arena on May 7.

The United Center is implementing increased health and safety protocols in accordance with NBA, NHL, CDC and state and local guidelines.

The Blackhawks will be able to host fans for two games: Sunday, May 9 and Monday, May 10 β€” both against the Stars. Tickets will be available through the team.

It will be the first time since March 11, 2020 that the Blackhawks will have seen fans in the stands: a 6-2 win over San Jose.
