SCH Ice Cold Podcast: Season 2, Episode 4: Blackhawks back on track

Everything seems to be coming up roses for the Chicago Blackhawks lately. The early October days of a historically awful penalty kill seem safely behind us (knocking on wood). Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane are the NHL point leaders. Marian Hossa has become revitalized. And, all of this has led to a six game winning streak- a welcomed 12-point binge.

Overall rundown:

  • Keys to the ongoing blazing six-game winning streak
  • The kids in Tyler Motte, Nick Schmaltz, and Ryan Hartman coming into their own
  • Corey Crawford’s dominance as, yes, the best goalie in the NHL right now
  • How separating Artemi Panarin and Kane in the top six has revitalized the legend in Hossa and the Hawks’ offense
  • After such a disastrous start, what’s changed in the penalty kill to lockdown 18 of it’s last 19 opportunities
  • A discussion on confidence, cliches, and morale working with numbers in analysis
  • Marvel continuing to set new standards with ‘Dr. Strange’
  • Hearty congratulations to the World Series champion Cubs, who hopefully raise the “tide” for all of the recent other less than successful Chicago sports teams/
