The Blackhawks loaned two more forwards prospects to European teams in their home countries Saturday morning with Philipp Kurashev and Michal Teply.
Kurashev will play for HC Lugano in Switzerland’s National League and Teply with BK Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic’s Czech Extraliga. Both leagues are the top division in their country.
Kurashev scored 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 36 games for the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL in his first professional season. He missed 25 games because of an injury from Dec. 31 to Feb. 22.
Kurashev, who will turn 21 on Oct. 12, was a Black Ace for the Blackhawks’ playoff run in Edmonton but did not play.
Teply signed a three-year contract in April after he led all rookies in the Western Hockey League with 34 assists and 63 points for the Winnipeg Ice, and his 29 goals were tied for first among first-year skaters. Teply, who turned 19 in May, led all Czech players in scoring at the World Junior Championship with five assists.
Kurashev and Teply will play for their respective European teams this fall until Chicago’s NHL training camp begins. The NHL and NHL Players’ Association tentatively agreed to a Dec. 1 start date for the 2020-21 season, with training camps beginning Nov. 17.
The Blackhawks have recently also loaned forwards Tim Soderlund to Almtuna IS in Sweden’s second division and Matej Chalupa to Mountfield HK in the Czech Republic’s first division.
